Advantages of thread lifting: What this innovative anti-ageing method can do

Thread lifting advantages

Many women and men want to have firm skin with a youthful complexion and a fresh, youthful appearance. While some are resigned to the natural signs of ageing, others are looking for effective ways to turn back the visual clock - without having to undergo invasive surgery. This is where thread lifting comes into play - an innovative method of aesthetic medicine that is becoming increasingly popular. In the following, we explain exactly what it is and what advantages the procedure offers.

What is a thread lift?

In the world of aesthetic medicine, an innovative alternative to conventional surgery has emerged in recent years. Facelift which does not involve the use of a scalpel: the Thread lifting. In this minimally invasive technique, we insert special threads under the skin in selected areas of your face using a fine microneedle. These threads are equipped with small hooks that allow them to be anchored in the subcutaneous tissue. This allows us to tighten sagging facial tissue.

You can find out how sagging and wrinkles occur in our blog post "How do wrinkles develop?"

Advantages of a thread lift: These points speak in favour of a facelift without a scalpel

A thread lift offers you a whole range of benefits. The many plus points make it an attractive option for you if you are considering a non-surgical method to rejuvenate your face. The benefits of thread lifting include:

Minimally invasive procedure

A thread lift does not require a complex operation involving a general anaesthetic. A local anaesthetic is sufficient for the treatment. Compared to a traditional facelift, which requires a major surgical procedure, a thread lift eliminates the usual surgical risks. As a result, the recovery time is also significantly shorter.

Natural result

As the threads lift and tighten your tissue without "overstretching" it, your natural facial shape is preserved. This can prevent the "mask-like" appearance that can occur with other treatments. As the result develops gradually over two to three months, the rejuvenation effect is 'gradual'. You will gradually look younger and fresher without a drastic change taking place. Your face gradually acquires a more defined structure and fresh volume. The effect of thread lifting lasts for around five to seven years.

Fast treatment

Another major advantage of thread lifting is that the minimally invasive procedure only takes around 30 - 60 minutes, depending on the extent of the treatment. This modern version of a facelift is therefore a time-saving option if you have a busy schedule.

Little to no pain

As a rule, little or no pain is to be expected after a thread lift.

Short recovery time

In contrast to a conventional facelift, which often requires a longer recovery period, you can return to social and personal activities within a few days after a thread lift.

Combinability with other treatments

It is possible to combine a thread lift with other aesthetic treatments such as wrinkle injections. This allows you to achieve a comprehensive rejuvenation result.

Advantage of thread lifting: Different materials for different requirements

In our Clinic in Weert two different materials are available for your thread lift:

PDO threads

Polydioxanone is a typical material used in thread lifting procedures. PDO is used for suture materials in surgery, for example, and has been used in medicine for a long time. It is biocompatible, which means that it is well tolerated by the tissue of the human body. The great advantage of PDO sutures is that they dissolve in the body by themselves after some time. Your body gradually breaks down the PDO and absorbs it completely. Tiny barbs on the threads allow us to lift and support your tissue. At the same time, PDO threads also stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a protein that is responsible for the elasticity and firmness of the skin. By stimulating collagen, PDO thread lifting helps to achieve long-term improvements in your skin texture and firmness.

Spring Threads®

These special threads are also made of biocompatible and resorbable PDO material. However, they have a different design and are equipped with small, spiral-shaped barbs or springs that are arranged along the thread. These springs are specially designed to lift and tighten the tissue more effectively. They are therefore particularly suitable for rejuvenating specific areas of the face. Spring threads are also suitable for® for contouring and reducing sagging cheeks.

We will be happy to advise you on the individual differences and the effects that can be achieved with classic PDO threads or spring threads.® are to be obtained and expected from you.

Thread lifting advantages: The costs are also lower

A thread lift is generally less expensive than a traditional facelift as it is a minimally invasive procedure that requires less time and resources. At our Acura clinic in Weert, you can have the treatment performed for as little as €700. In comparison, a facelift is possible from €2000.
