Do you regret getting a tattoo or do you simply want a fresh start? At the Acura Medical Centre, we offer a modern and skin-friendly tattoo removal solution using the latest PICO laser technology. This enables precise and effective removal, regardless of the colour, depth or size of the tattoo. The laser splits the colour pigments into tiny particles that are naturally broken down by the body, causing the tattoo to fade further after each session.
As every skin and every tattoo is unique, our experienced specialists create a customised treatment plan that is tailored to your skin condition and enables scar-free, gentle removal. Thanks to the innovative PICO technology, the sessions are less painful than conventional methods and the healing time is significantly shorter.

During the counselling interview our skin therapist Milou van Beusekom the technique and the course of treatment. She will also enquire about your general state of health, e.g. your medical history, medication, allergies, etc.
This ensures that every treatment takes place under the best possible conditions. Of course, we will also inform you about possible risks and complications. Your wishes and treatment options will also be discussed. We will do our best to fulfil your wishes as well as possible. There will be plenty of time for questions during the consultation.
Before the treatment, you will be given glasses to protect your eyes from the laser beams.
The skin therapist then positions the handpiece of the PICO laser and sets a test pulse so that you get used to the feeling. She then moves the handpiece over the area to be treated. The laser pulses feel like a rubber band shooting against the skin or like a warm prick. A cooling device can also be used during the laser treatment, which blows in cold air to make the treatment more comfortable. If the first treatment was too painful, we can use an anaesthetic cream for subsequent treatments.
How long the treatment takes naturally depends on the size of the area to be treated and the number of tattoos.
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may feel warm and swollen. After a few days, the treated areas may become reddened.
After treatment, it is important to apply a sunscreen with SPF 50 to the treated areas, e.g. CarebyAcura Sunprotectwhich also has a caring effect.
It is also recommended not to go to the sauna or swim for about 3 weeks after the treatment.
On average, 3 to 7 treatments are required to achieve optimum results.
With all laser treatments, there is a small risk of too much heat being absorbed by the skin during treatment. This can lead to burns and possibly to differences in pigmentation. These differences in pigmentation can persist for several weeks to months. In most cases, however, it recovers completely.
The laser splits the colour pigments, which are then removed from the body via the lymphatic system. This means that the tattoo becomes less visible from time to time and fades.
We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions about tattoo removal for you here. Below the questions you will find short, concise answers to the most important topics.
The laser treatment feels like a rubber band bouncing on the skin. The pain can be reduced during the treatment with a cooling device; from treatment 2 onwards we can also use an anaesthetic cream.
An average of 2 sessions are required to laser away permanent make-up, and an average of 4 to 6 sessions are required to laser away tattoos. This is an average value and can therefore be less or more. How many treatments you need to remove your tattoo / SPMU depends on the size, depth, ink colours and skin colour.
After the treatment, the skin may be slightly reddened and warm. A small, superficial scab may form. These normally disappear within 1-3 days.
You should avoid the sun as much as possible for the first 6 weeks after treatment. If you come into contact with UV radiation, you should protect yourself adequately and use sun protection factor 50.
How long the treatment lasts depends on your tattoo. Remember that several treatments are required, with a break of 8 weeks between each treatment. With each treatment, the tattoo will fade more and more and eventually disappear. More specifically, you will see results after each session: the tattoo will become lighter and lighter.
