What is the Viveve® treatment?
A Viveve® treatment consists of a single clinic visit and takes just 30 minutes. Before beginning the treatment, the doctor will carefully clean the area to be treated. There is no need for an anaesthetic or pain relief. Afterwards, the doctor will insert a smooth treatment tip (smaller than a tampon) into the vaginal opening. The treatment tip delivers small pulses of cooling and warmth to the surrounding tissue. The doctor moves the tip systematically around the vaginal opening. After 5 rotations, the treatment is complete.
How does the Viveve® treatment work?
The unique Viveve® method uses deep-heating high-frequency energy to cool and protect the superficial tissue while simultaneously warming the deeper layers.
Viveve® treats the inner, lower third of the vagina. In this area, improved skin contact (due to a tighter vagina) leads to more sensation during sexual intercourse. This tissue is directly connected to the clitoris at the vaginal entrance. Thanks to the treatment, increased stimulation can take place.
Am I suitable for the Viveve® treatment?
During a confidential consultation at our clinic, you can tell us about your symptoms. Our doctor will then let you know whether the Viveve® treatment is a suitable solution for you. The treatment is best suited for women who are unsatisfied with sensation or physical stimulation during sexual intercourse and have not yet reached the menopause.
Viveve® is not suitable if you experience pain during sexual intercourse or if you suffer from a gynaecological condition, such as an acute infection. The Viveve® treatment is also unfortunately not suitable if you are undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
What can I expect after the treatment?
No special aftercare is required and you can resume your normal activities, with the exception of sexual intercourse and the use of tampons.
