Correction of a nipple | € 750 |
Correction of both nipples | € 1.250 |
Are you thinking about a nipple correction? During your first consultation at the Acura clinic in Weert you will then be informed in detail about the operation. The plastic surgeon will not only discuss the technique of the operation, but also explain the possible risks and complications in detail.
For a nipple correction, it is also important that we know your general health situation. This includes, in particular, your medical history, medication and allergies. In this way, your breast surgery will take place under optimal conditions.
During the consultation, you state your wishes and we assess what results you can expect. You tell us what you want and we give you honest, sound advice.
Nipple correction is performed under general anaesthetic. Before the anaesthetic, the surgeon will briefly discuss with you what he will do and what you can expect from the treatment.
After the incision in the skin under the breast or, in some cases, around the areola, the operation can be performed.
After the treatment, you will be taken to the recovery room where you can recover from the procedure and the anaesthetic. If necessary, you will be given additional painkillers. This treatment only takes one day and you can leave our clinic on the same day.
Always follow the doctor's aftercare instructions following treatment. During the first few days you may experience a painful, pressing sensation. You can take painkillers for this. You will also be given additional medication to minimise the swelling as much as possible.
The swelling usually goes down after three days. After 24 hours you can shower again and take off your bra. We recommend that you rest for 7 to 10 days after the operation. You can then resume your daily activities, but should avoid strenuous exercise for the first few weeks. You must not do any sport for 6 weeks.
The swelling will subside over the course of 2 to 6 weeks. The feeling in the nipples may be different at the beginning. This ranges from very sensitive to numb.
In the first few months, the scars can have a rather fiery colour. After that, they increasingly take on the colour of the skin and become less visible. It is important that the scars are not exposed to the sun in the first year after the operation. In this case, use a Sun cream with a very high sun protection factor.
The treatment is carried out under extremely sterile and hygienic conditions, which minimises the risk of infection. For this reason, a short 5-day course of antibiotics is prescribed as a preventative measure.
In the first few weeks after your nipple correction, blue discolouration and swelling are completely normal. The wound may bleed or the scars may be temporarily red and swollen after the operation. Impaired wound healing can also cause a permanently wide scar.
To prevent these complications and reduce the risks, it is necessary that you do not work or drive for a fortnight and do not exercise for six weeks.
For a natural result from your nipple correction, it is important that your nipples form a natural unit with your breasts and the rest of your body. The result of the treatment is not visible immediately after the procedure. You will see the final result approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the procedure.
The incisions gradually become less visible and after about a year only barely visible white lines remain. Breast examinations and radiological tests are also possible after the treatment without any problems.
Below you will find some questions that we are often asked by patients in the run-up to nipple correction. However, if your question remains unanswered, please simply contact us and we will be happy to take the time to advise you in detail.
Nipple correction is performed under sedation. The procedure takes about 30 minutes per breast. Admission to the clinic is not required. After you have recovered sufficiently from the anaesthetic, you will go home to recover. Paracetamol can be used to relieve the pain. The after-pain is short-lived.
Inverted nipples can be corrected by surgery. The exact solution depends on the severity of the condition. You will be advised on the best treatment method and the expected results.
On average, it takes 7 to 10 days for the treated area to heal, depending on your health and ability to recover.
Yes, you can. Women who have previously undergone a breast and/or nipple correction can breastfeed their baby and are encouraged to do so.
It is recommended that you do not wear a tight bra or tight clothing for the first few days. This is the only way to prevent the working area from shrinking and/or being compressed. Careful showering is possible from 24 hours after the operation. Follow the doctor's instructions and take extra care for a few days.
Your doctor may suggest using a suction cup to pull out the nipple. Hard plastic breast cups, which are inserted into the bra, exert pressure on the nipple and push it outwards. The most commonly chosen method is surgery.
Most women are satisfied with the results achieved and look back on the treatment with positive feelings. The choice of an experienced cosmetic doctor has a direct influence on the results.
Nipple retraction surgery is safe. Apart from swelling and tenderness, patients experience minimal side effects. The risks of the procedure include infection, poor wound healing, permanent scarring and altered sensation, although these are rare.
From the mid-thirties, the body, including the breasts, begins to change. These changes continue in the years that follow. The milk ducts become shorter as you approach the menopause. These changes sometimes lead to flat, retracted nipples.
Inverted nipples occur in both women and men. Often both sides are affected and not just one. It is caused by tight connective tissue or other problems with the ductal system to which the nipple is connected. Although many people have retracted nipples from birth, this can also occur later in life.
One of the best ways to reduce sensitivity is to avoid clothing rubbing against the nipple. Although it may sound counterintuitive, rubbing and massaging the nipple can reduce hypersensitivity. Choose a bra made from a soft fabric.
