Microneedling consultation

During the consultation, our skin therapist will determine whether the microneedling treatment is suitable for your skin. We will also explain the technique and the course of the treatment to you. We will also determine the approximate number of treatments required to achieve the desired result.

To achieve optimal results, it is important that you use the right home care products. During the consultation, the skin therapist will give advice on how to use the right Skin care products for at home.

Microneedling treatment

Microneedling is a treatment method in which micro-holes are drilled into the skin at high speed. These micro-holes trigger the natural repair process, which ensures the production of new collagen and elastin in the skin.

The skin is renewed without damaging the top layer of skin. After a microneedling treatment with the Dermapen 4, the skin is noticeably firmer, smoother and tighter.

The Dermapen4 treatment is ideal for treating (acne) scars, fine lines, pigmentation, coarse pores and skin ageing. The overall skin condition will improve and the skin will look healthy, smooth and radiant.

Depending on the indication, several treatments may be required to achieve the desired results. On average, 3-6 treatments are required at intervals of 2-6 weeks.

The treatment can possibly be combined with skin boosters or chemical peelings which the skin therapist will discuss with you during the consultation. With the Dermapen4, tiny holes are drilled into the skin so that the skin booster or peeling can penetrate deeper. This achieves faster and better results.

Risks and complications

Every cosmetic procedure harbours risks such as allergic reactions or infections. Fortunately, the risks associated with this treatment are very low.

However, there is a risk of pigment changes developing in the area of the treated skin. To minimise this risk, a daily Sunscreen should be applied with a sun protection factor of 50. If pigmentation changes do occur, they usually disappear by themselves after a while.

Result Microneedling

After the treatment, the skin may be slightly sensitive, reddened and possibly slightly swollen. The skin may also feel tight. This usually disappears within 24 to 72 hours and depends on the depth of the treatment. To promote recovery, it is important to follow the aftercare instructions carefully.

After the treatment, the skin is smoother and firmer, resulting in even and radiant skin. Skin imperfections such as fine lines, pigmentation spots and (acne) scars will gradually fade. As the skin renews itself, pigmentation disorders will also diminish. Collagen formation can take 8 to 12 weeks. Therefore, the optimal end result will only be visible 3 months after the last treatment.

How does the treatment work?

After cleansing the face, the Dermapen4 is used, which is gently and evenly rolled over the skin. The treatment lasts an average of 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your personal treatment plan. A special serum is then applied to enhance the results.

How long do you need to recover after the treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, the skin may be very red and swollen. This usually subsides within 24 hours. To achieve optimal results, we recommend repeating the treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. The results are visible on average after 4 weeks, but can last up to several months.
