Lip augmentation consultation

Injection treatment of the lips is a cosmetic procedure that requires thorough preparation. The Acura Medical Centre welcomes you to a no-obligation consultation. Lip augmentation treatment

To complete your medical record, photos of your lips are taken before treatment. For the treatment, only the Filler and fine needles are required. If your lips are injected with the Restylane filler, for example, you will first be given a local anaesthetic in the area to be treated. After a short application time, the Restylane gel is applied to your skin. The entire treatment takes about fifteen minutes. The main component of Restylane is the body's own hyaluronic acid, which gives the lips volume. With increasing age, the production of the body's own hyaluronic acid decreases. This can be compensated for by injections. Swelling may occur after the treatment. To avoid this, your skin will be cooled immediately after the treatment. You can leave the clinic on the same day.

Risks and complications

As with any injection, there is a risk of infection and an allergic reaction. Both risks are very low (less than 0.1%) and have no effect on the result.

Sometimes the swelling lasts longer.

No other specific complications are known with Restylane injections.

Result

The Injection treatment is generally not a drastic cosmetic treatment. The local anaesthetic used is broken down by your body approximately 1 to 2 hours after the treatment. Your skin may be slightly reddish for a while and a feeling of tightness may occur. This feeling will disappear after a few hours. There may be slight swelling in the first few days. However, most people go back to work the next day. If small bruises occur, you can cover them up without worrying.

Injection treatment is not completely risk-free. Serious complications occur very rarely or never. However, allergic reactions cannot be completely ruled out. Neither can the likelihood of infection. However, neither of the complications mentioned will affect the result. Swelling is visible for longer in some people than in others.
