You are welcome to come to the Acura Clinic for a free, no-obligation consultation to discuss your breast lift wishes - with or without augmentation - in detail with a specialised surgeon.
During this consultation, the doctor will carefully analyse your expectations and assess the shape, firmness, skin quality and volume of your breasts. Based on this analysis, we will decide together whether a breast lift is sufficient for the desired result or whether a combination with breast implants is better suited to your goals.
The doctor will clearly explain the treatment options, the techniques used and the expected results. You will also be honestly informed about possible risks and complications so that you can make an informed decision.
Whether you opt for a subtle lift or additional volume, Acura always focuses on a natural and harmonious result.
After the consultation, you will speak to one of our secretaries to check your details, receive additional information about the next steps and - if you wish - to arrange an operation date.
A breast lift at the Acura Clinic is always performed under general anaesthetic. Before the operation, the surgeon carefully marks the breasts to determine exactly where the excess skin needs to be removed and how the breast shape should be restored.
During the procedure, incisions are made after which the excess skin and breast tissue are removed. In addition, if necessary, the nipples are lifted to achieve a natural, aesthetic result. Exactly how this is done depends on the degree of sagging and the chosen treatment technique. At the end of the procedure, the incisions are sutured and sterile plasters are applied.
After the operation, you will wake up calmly in the recovery room, where you will be closely monitored by our medical team. After a medical examination, you can go home the same day if everything is in order.
This option is suitable for women who are satisfied with the volume of their breasts but suffer from sagging skin or drooping breasts. With a breast lift, the breasts regain their firmness and shape without the use of implants.
If the sagging is compounded by a loss of volume - for example after pregnancy or weight loss - a combination of a breast lift and implants offers an excellent solution. This not only ensures firmer, but also fuller and rounder breasts. The implants are inserted through a small incision to minimise scarring.
Both techniques aim to achieve a natural result that is completely customised to your body and your wishes. Thanks to the many years of experience of our specialists, you can rely on expert care - from the initial consultation to aftercare.
You must wear the bra for 3 months after the operation.
After the procedure, you will stay in the clinic for a few hours to recover from the anaesthetic. As soon as you have recovered sufficiently and the first checks have been carried out, you will be allowed to go home under supervision. During this recovery phase, it is important to support the healing process and follow the post-operative instructions exactly.
The first weeks
Pain and swelling are normal after the operation and can be well controlled with painkillers such as paracetamol.
You will wear a special post-operative bra day and night for at least 3 months. This supports the breasts, reduces swelling and promotes beautiful scarring.
The plasters on the wounds remain in place for the first 2 weeks. You may shower your lower body, but you must ensure that the plasters remain dry.
At the follow-up appointment after about 2 weeks, the nurse removes the knots from the stitches and photographs are taken.
Care of the scar
Clean the scar for the first 10-14 days by dabbing it with Betadine and gauze in the morning and evening.
Then apply a hypoallergenic micropore plaster to the scar. After 4 weeks, replace it with a silicone plaster containing micropores, which you continue to use for 3 to 6 months.
From 1 month after the operation, massage the scar daily with Colostrum cream in circular movements to achieve a smooth and even scar.
Important notes
A breast lift is a safe procedure that is performed at the Acura Clinic with the utmost care and expertise. Nevertheless, every surgical procedure harbours certain risks. Although complications are rare, it is important that you are well informed.
Possible risks and complications are
A breast lift with implants can also lead to implant-related complications such as capsular contracture (tightening of the connective tissue around the implant) or rupture of the implant. These risks are limited, especially if you follow the aftercare instructions carefully and choose an experienced doctor.
At Acura, safety is our top priority. During the consultation, we discuss all possible risks and take plenty of time to answer your questions. This way, you know exactly what to expect - and what you can do to ensure an optimal recovery and outcome.
There are certain questions that are frequently asked about a breast lift with possible augmentation. We have summarised the most frequently asked questions for you in the following overview. The questions are followed by short and concise answers.
What is the difference between a breast lift and a breast augmentation?
In a breast lift, sagging breasts are corrected by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple. In a breast augmentation, the volume is increased using implants. Both procedures can be combined to achieve a firmer and fuller result.
Am I suitable for a breast lift?
You may be suitable for a breast lift if you suffer from sagging, drooping breasts, often after pregnancy, weight loss or as you age. During a consultation, the doctor will assess your skin, your breast shape and your expectations.
Will my breasts remain firm after a breast lift?
A breast lift offers long-term improvement, but factors such as ageing, weight changes or pregnancy can cause sagging to return. A good bra and a healthy lifestyle will ensure that the results last longer.
Should I have implants inserted during a breast lift?
Not necessarily. If you only want a lift without additional volume, a breast lift is sufficient. If you also want fuller breasts, this can be combined with implants. This will be discussed during the consultation.
Is the procedure painful?
The operation itself takes place under anaesthetic. Post-operative pain may occur for a few days after the procedure, which can be well controlled with painkillers such as paracetamol.
How long does recovery take?
Most patients can resume light activities after 1 to 2 weeks. You will wear a post-operative bra for 3 months and avoid intense physical exertion for at least 6 weeks.
What scars can be expected?
The scars are carefully placed and fade over time. The most common techniques result in scars around the areola and in a vertical or anchor shape, depending on the degree of correction.
How long should I wear the post-operative bra?
You should wear the special compression bra for at least 3 months to limit swelling and optimally support the healing process.
Can I still breastfeed after a breast lift?
Most women can continue breastfeeding after a breast lift, but this cannot be completely guaranteed. It depends on the technique and your personal anatomy.
What are the risks of a breast lift?
Possible risks include infection, post-operative bleeding, scarring or loss of sensation in the nipples. In the case of augmentation with implants, there are also risks such as capsular contracture or implant displacement.
When will I see the final result?
The majority of the result is visible after a few weeks, but the final result is usually visible after 3 to 6 months, when the swelling has completely subsided.
Is the counselling non-binding?
Yes, at Acura Medical Centre the first consultation is completely free and without obligation. During this consultation, you will receive honest and expert advice tailored to your needs and your body.
